TOM MTF Statistics Week 13 2012

This week showed moderate trading volumes in both cash as well as derivatives trading. In cash TOM MTF showed a market share of 3.1% in ING and 2.5% in Aegon, for derivatives TOM MTF has an overall market share of 14% this week in the classed offered.

Statement By IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde On The Euro Area Firewall

Ms. Christine Lagarde, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), issued the following statement today:

“I welcome the decision of Euro Area Ministers to strengthen the European firewall. The IMF has long emphasized that enhanced European and global firewalls, together with the implementation of strong policy frameworks, are critical for ending the crisis and securing international financial stability. The combination of the ESM and the EFSF, along with other recent European efforts, will strengthen the European firewall and support the IMF’s efforts to increase its available resources for the benefit of all our members.”

Boerse Stuttgart Bondm Segment For Medium-Sized Enterprises - End Of Subscription Period For MITEC Automotive AG Bond - Trading On Bondm Starts On 29 March 2012

From 19 March 2012 investors had the opportunity to subscribe to the corporate bond of MITEC Automotive AG via the Boerse Stuttgart Bondm segment for medium-sized enterprises. The period for subscription to the bond issue via the Bondm subscription box ended on 28 March. However, subject to the premature end of subscriptions, it is now possible to subscribe to the issue directly via the company until October 2012.

U.S. Department Of The Treasury: Mary John Miller Confirmed As Under Secretary For Domestic Finance

Mary John Miller was confirmed by the United States Senate yesterday to serve as the U.S. Department of the Treasury's Under Secretary for Domestic Finance. As Under Secretary for Domestic Finance, Miller will be responsible for developing and coordinating Treasury’s policies and guidance in the areas of financial institutions, federal debt financing, financial regulation, and capital markets.

Maple Group And TMX Group Announce Extension Of Offer To TMX Group Shareholders To April 30, 2012

Maple Group Acquisition Corporation ("Maple"), a corporation whose investors comprise 13 of Canada’s leading financial institutions and pension funds, and TMX Group Inc. ("TMX Group") (TSX:X), today announced the extension of Maple’s offer to acquire a minimum of 70% and a maximum of 80% of the shares of TMX Group to 5:00p.m. (Eastern Time) on Monday, April 30, 2012, unless further extended or withdrawn. The offer is part of an integrated acquisition transaction, valued at approximately $3.8 billion, to acquire 100% of TMX Group shares. The TMX Group Board of Directors continues to unanimously recommend that shareholders accept and tender their shares under the Maple offer.

NYSE Liffe To Launch Equity Options On Ziggo

NYSE Liffe, the Europe-based derivatives business of NYSE Euronext (NYX), will add options on the shares of Ziggoto its highly successful range of equity option classes. The launch of options follows the successful initial public offering of Dutch cable operator Ziggo which took place on March 21st. This IPO was the largest in Europe in almost a year. The Ziggo options will be introduced on the Amsterdam derivatives market of NYSE Liffe on 12 April 2012.

ESMA Publishes The Draft Technical Standards On Short Selling

Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the  Council of 14 March on short selling and certain aspects of credit  default swaps (the Regulation)  requires ESMA to develop draft  regulatory (RTS) and implementing technical standards (ITS) in relation  to several provisions contained in Articles 9, 11, 12 and 16 of the  Regulation.
