Thai Bourse And Cambodia Securities Exchange Signed MoU

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) to promote development of capital market in Cambodia and Thailand. Among others, the MOU encompasses human resource training, professional training, information sharing and promoting capital market business opportunities between the two exchanges.

Singapore Fixed Income Indices (SFI) Weekly Report - Performance Review For The Week Ending 23 May 2014

Below are key highlights for the week ending 23 May 2014 (please click on the attachment for further detail):
- The SFI lost 0.28% to 117.53. The SFI is 1.03% shy of its all-time high.
- YTD, the STI currently outperforms the SFI by 1.33%.
- The SFI made its first weekly decline in seven weeks. The SFI Corporate Bond Index however, continues to advance.
- The SFI Corporate Bond Index closed the week at an all-time high (121.98), while the SFI Government Bond Index dipped.
- Correlation between the SFI Corporate Bond Index and the STI is approximately 18% YTD.

On 23 May 2014, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (“HKEx” or “Company”) and its subsidiaries, The London Metal Exchange (“LME”) and LME Holdings Limited (together, the “Subsidiaries”) were named as co-defendants in a class action filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. The complaint alleges anti-competitive and monopolistic behaviour in the warehousing market in connection with zinc prices. HKEx and LME management’s initial assessment is that the lawsuit is without merit and HKEx and the Subsidiaries will contest it vigorously.

Summary
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) has issued a final rule that combines certain rules that the OCC originally issued jointly with the other federal banking agencies regarding national banks with rules that the former Office of Thrift Supervision (OTS) issued regarding savings associations.[1] Specifically, the OCC is combining rules relating to consumer protection in insurance sales, Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance, management interlocks, appraisals, disclosure and reporting of agreements related to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This final rule also makes technical amendments to the OCC’s FCRA rule to conform to provisions of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
