The Federal Reserve Board on Friday announced the appointment of Eric S. Belsky as Director of the Division of Consumer and Community Affairs. He is expected to start at the Board in August.

The Securities and Exchange Commission today charged a New York-based brokerage firm that operates a dark pool alternative trading system with improperly using subscribers’ confidential trading information in marketing its services. 

ECC: Supervisory Board Extends Contract Of Steffen Köhler Re-election Of Supervisory Board

At its meeting on June 5, 2014 in Leipzig, the Supervisory Board ofthe European Commodity Clearing AG (ECC) has confirmed Steffen Köhler as Member of the Management Board of the clearing house. Steffen Köhler’s contract in the function of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) was extended with effect from 1 March 2015 for another five years until 29 February 2020. Köhler was first appointed to the board of the ECC in No- vember 2012.

CityUK's Independent Economists Group Warns Of Uncertainty Over Macroprudential Policy

TheCityUK's Independent Economists Group (IEG) has warned in a new report that uncertainty over the use of macroprudential measures and the timing of interest rate rises pose risks to the UK economy. According to the IEG, while macroprudential tools offer significant potential, policymakers must exercise caution in implementing measures which could undermine the financial stability they are designed to ensure. At the same time, interest rate rises must be controlled to ensure they do not result in imbalances which threaten the economic recovery.

• Funds raised through IPOs for the first five months of 2014 was $58,826 million, an increase of 65 per cent when compared with $35,756 million for the same period last year.
