STI 30 Unchanged After June Quarterly Review - Three New IPOs Gain Entry To FTSE ST Indices

Singapore Press Holdings (SPH), Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) and FTSE Group (FTSE) today announced the results of the quarterly review of the FTSE ST Index Series. While there were no changes to the STI constituents, three new IPOs were added to the FTSE ST Index Series – Mapletree Greater China Commercial Trust, which joined the FTSE ST Mid Cap Index, and Asian Pay Television Trust and Croesus Retail Trust which both gained entry into the FTSE ST Small Cap Index.

Charges have today been laid in the Wellington District Court against David Robert Gilmour Ross (63). The charges laid by the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) allege he operated a $400 million Ponzi scheme. They follow a joint agency investigation between SFO and the Financial Markets Authority (FMA).

SIFMA today released the following statement from Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr., president, after a bi-partisan majority of the House of Representatives passed H.R. 1256, the Swap Jurisdiction Certainty Act. The legislation seeks to address cross-border application of derivatives regulation under Title VII of the Dodd-Frank Act by requiring coordination in rulemaking between the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced the filing of a civil complaint against Thomas L. Hampton, an Arizona resident. The CFTC’s complaint charges Hampton with acting as an unregistered commodity pool operator (CPO) and issuing false account statements in violation of the Commodity Exchange Act.
