FSB Consults On The Identification Of Critical Functions For Systemically Important Insurers

The Financial Stability Board (FSB) is launching today a public consultation on guidance for the identification of the critical functions and critical shared services for systemically important insurers. The guidance should assist national authorities in implementing the recovery and resolution planning requirements set out in the FSB Key Attributes of Effective Resolution Regimes for Financial Institutions and in the policy measures of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) for globally systemically important insurers (G-SIIs).

Deutsche Börse Partners With African Stock Exchange - First Pan-African Exchange To Open In 2015 - Easier Access For Xetra Users To Markets In Africa

The African Stock Exchange (AFSX) plans to use the technology and support services of Deutsche Börse's Xetra trading venue. The AFSX is a start-up based in Mauritius with the objective of offering securities trading for the whole of Africa. Xetra trading participants will have easier access to the African financial markets in future through the Deutsche Börse infrastructure. Moreover, market participants in Africa will have technical access to a large pan-European trader network.

Thailand Futures Exchange’s Derivatives Volume Up 88 Pct In The First Nine Months

Thailand Futures Exchange PCL (TFEX), under The Stock Exchange of Thailand group, revealed that derivatives trading volume surged 88 percent to 127,536 contracts per day from a year earlier, adding the total trading volume to 23,339,171 contracts with mini SET50 futures and stock futures still being the most popular products.

New York Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman Announces Multi-state Settlement With TD Bank Over Data Breach - 1.4 Million Files From 260,000 Customers Were Compromised, Including Data For 31,407 New York Customers

Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman today announced a multi-state settlement with TD Bank, N.A. that resolves an inquiry into a 2012 data breach in which 1.4 million files were compromised. The $850,000 settlement requires the bank to reform its practices to help ensure that future incidents do not occur. New York State will receive $114,106.11 under the settlement.

US Treasury Department Releases Semi-Annual Report To Congress On International Economic And Exchange Rate Policies

The U.S. Department of the Treasury today released the Semi-Annual Report to Congress on International Economic and Exchange Rate Policies, pursuant to Section 3004 and 3005 of the Omnibus Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988. The Report covers international economic and foreign exchange developments in the first half of 2014 and, where pertinent and available, data through end-September 2014.

MIAX Options: Resolution Of Potential MBBO Display Issue For Resting Orders Following An Underlying Halt

Please be advised that MIAX has resolved the technical issue surrounding the handling of orders remaining on the MIAX Book after a trading halt causing such orders in certain circumstances not to be represented in the MIAX Best Bid and/or Offer. The resolution will be implemented for trading tomorrow, October 16, 2014.

CFTC Announces Departure Of Clearing And Risk Division Director Ananda Radhakrishnan

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) today announced that Division of Clearing and Risk (DCR) Director Ananda Radhakrishnan will depart the agency at the middle of November. Mr. Radhakrishnan is a 12-year veteran of the agency, and he has been the Director since DCR was formed in 2011 and previously had been the Director of the Division of Clearing and Intermediary Oversight (DCIO). Chairman Tim Massad also announced today that Phyllis Dietz, currently Deputy Director for Clearing Policy, will be the Acting Director upon Mr. Radhakrishnan’s departure.
