Three Senior Appointments To The Bank Of England

HM Treasury has today announced that Her Majesty The Queen has agreed, on the recommendation of the Chancellor and Prime Minister, to appoint Anthony Habgood as the Chairman of Court, and Dr Ben Broadbent as Deputy Governor for Monetary Policy. In addition, the Chancellor and the Governor have agreed to appoint Dr Nemat Shafik as Deputy Governor of the Bank of England responsible for Markets and Banking.

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) received delegates from the Iraqi region of Kurdistan including board members of Erbil Stock Exchange (ESX) and the Governance Committee in the region as part an understanding to provide necessary technical support to set up the Erbil Stock Exchange (ESX). The delegates have attended a two day extensive and comprehensive orientation program on various characteristics of the financial market.

London Stock Exchange today welcomes Circassia, the first biotech company to list on London's Main Market since 2006. The speciality biopharmaceutical company, focussed on developing world-class immunotherapies raised £200 million of primary proceeds to fund company growth. The £581 million valuation makes it the largest biotech company to IPO on London's markets.

Three hundred-seventy six firms listing on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and Market Alternative Investment (mai) announced an all-time high of dividend payment for 2013 performance with a combined dividend payment of THB 363.13 billion (approx. USD 11.17 billion), rising continuously for the sixth consecutive year. This underlines the attractive dividend yield of the Thai capital market.
