    The Mexican Stock Exchange Group reports that during the session of the Board of Directors held today, Luis Téllez Kuenzler announced his decision to step down as Chairman and CEO, effective January 1st 2015, to pursue new projects.

  • SIFMA Statement On Final Risk Retention Rule

    SIFMA today issued the following statement from Kenneth E. Bentsen, Jr., SIFMA president and CEO, on the final risk retention rule announced today by regulators:          

    "The finalization of the credit risk retention rules will help clarify the regulatory 'rules of the road' for securitization. This will bring some relief to the regulatory uncertainty that has been a negative factor in the recovery of non-government guaranteed mortgage securitization. We are pleased that the regulators finalized the adherence of the QRM definition to the CFPB's QM definition, which is a path SIFMA supported in its 2013 comments."

  • CFTC And Manitoba Securities Commission Sign Counterpart To Memorandum Of Understanding To Enhance Supervision Of Cross-Border Regulated Entities

    The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) announced today that CFTC Chairman Tim Massad and Donald Murray, Chair of the Manitoba Securities Commission (MSC), have signed a Counterpart to the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed on March 25, 2014, regarding cooperation and the exchange of information in the supervision and oversight of regulated entities that operate on a cross-border basis in the United States and in certain Canadian provinces. The MOU, originally signed by four other Canadian authorities, included a provision for additional Canadian authorities to become parties to the MOU. The CFTC and MSC have executed the Counterpart in order for the MSC to join the MOU.

    John P. Carlin, the Assistant Attorney General for National Security, announced strategic changes within the Justice Department’s National Security Division (NSD) designed to put additional focus on the protection of national assets from the threat of state-sponsored economic espionage and proliferation, including through cyberspace.  The announcement included new appointments within the NSD’s senior leadership, the creation of a new Deputy Assistant Attorney General Position focusing on protecting national assets and the re-designation of the Anti-Terrorism and Advisory Council (ATAC) Coordinator program as the National Security Coordinator/ATAC program, to better reflect its ongoing work on the full range of national security threats, and to empower United States Attorneys as they conduct outreach on these issues nationwide.
