Tokyo Stock Exchange ETF/ETN Monthly Report For Oct 2013 - Trading Value Remained High In October

The ETF/ETN market remained robust in October 2013, reaching the third highest level in total trading value since May and June.
Leveraged and inverse ETFs continued to drive trading during the month. In late October, the market welcomed a new pair of leveraged (x2) and inverse (-1x) ETNs tracking the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
ETFs tracking US indices, including VIX, also posted increases in trading value.

Securities Commission Malaysia: SC fines Ranhill Energy and Resources Berhad and Tan Sri Hamdan Mohamad

Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) has imposed a fine of RM200,000 on Ranhill Energy and Resources Berhad (Ranhill) and reprimanded and fined Tan Sri Hamdan Mohamad RM 300,000 for failure to disclose to SC material changes related to Ranhill’s listing.

Hong Kong's Securities And Futures Commission: PME Group Director Acquitted Of Making False Or Misleading Announcements

The Eastern Magistrates’ Court today acquitted Ms Ivy Chan Shui Sheung, a director of PME Group Limited (PME Group), on three counts of making false or misleading stock exchange announcements for her alleged involvement in the offences by PME Group.
HKEx: Changes Of Designated Securities For Short Selling

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), announces that with effect from 15 November 2013 (Friday), 33 additional securities will be eligible for short selling and 8 existing designated securities will be removed from the list. The total number of designated securities for short selling will be 672 after the revision.
ESMA Has Registered KDPW Trade Repository As One Of The First Four In Europe

The European Securities Market Authority (ESMA) has registered the KDPW Trade Repository, confirming that it fulfils all trade repository requirements under EMIR. The KDPW Trade Repository (KDPW_TR) is one of the first four such institutions to be registered in Europe and the only one in Central in Eastern Europe.

Standard & Poor's Ratings Services: France Long-Term Ratings Lowered To 'AA' On Weak Economic Growth Prospects And Fiscal Policy Constraints - Outlook Stable

OVERVIEW

We believe the French government's reforms to taxation, as well as to 
product, services, and labor markets, will not substantially raise 
France's medium-term growth prospects, and that ongoing high unemployment 
is weakening support for further significant fiscal and structural policy 
measures.
Furthermore, we believe lower economic growth is constraining the 
government's ability to consolidate public finances.
We are therefore lowering our long-term foreign and local currency 
sovereign credit ratings on France to 'AA'.
The outlook is stable, reflecting our view that the probability that we 
will raise or lower the rating on France over the next two years is less 
than one-in-three.
