DME, the Middle East's premier international energy futures and commodities exchange, reported that its flagship Oman Crude Oil Futures Contract (DME Oman) contract sunk to a 26-month low with Thursday's settlement price the weakest since July 2012.

Tullett Prebon, one of the world’s largest interdealer brokers, has established a joint venture with Parthian Partners, a Nigerian-based interdealer broker, as part of its continued expansion throughout the African continent. Tullett Prebon’s clients gain a route into the growing Nigerian market with exclusive access to Parthian Partners’ client base of domestic banks and discount houses. In return, Parthian Partners’ domestic clients will benefit from Tullett Prebon’s global brokerage services and connections into the global investment community. The partnership will enhance liquidity in Naira-denominated bonds and bills for the clients of both Tullett Prebon and Parthian Partners.

August 2014: Lower Trading Activity - The Statistical Monthly Report Contains The Latest Trade And Turnover Figures For SIX Swiss Exchange

In the month of August, trading turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange amounted to CHF 76'130 million. This represents a decline compared to the previous month of 15.4%. Since the beginning of the year however, turnover rose by 7.0% to CHF 741'221 million compared to the same period in the previous year. Trading activity was also lower than in July 2014. The number of trades in August amounted to 2'852'520 (-14.9%). However, a total of 25'090'618 transactions since the beginning of the year corresponds to an increase of 7.1% over 2013.

Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission Commences Proceedings Against CITIC, Its Former Chairman And Executive Directors

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has instituted proceedings today in both the Court of First Instance and the Market Misconduct Tribunal (MMT) against CITIC Limited (CITIC) and five of its former executive directors, namely chairman Mr Larry Yung Chi Kin, managing director Mr Henry Fan Hung Ling, deputy managing directors Mr Leslie Chang Li Hsien and Mr Peter Lee Chung Hing, and executive director Mr Chau Chi Yin (the five directors).

HKEx: Forfeiture Of Unclaimed Interim Dividend For 2008

On 30 July 2014, HKEx announced that, pursuant to HKEx’s Articles of Association, the interim dividend for 2008 of HK$2.49 per share, payable on 11 September 2008 and remaining unclaimed on 11 September 2014, would be forfeited and would revert to HKEx.
