CME Group Announces First Trades Of New Iron Ore Futures Contract

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, today announced the first Iron Ore 58% Fe, Low Alumina, CFR China (TSI) Futures contracts were cleared on 8 December 2014, through CME ClearPort. The first trade was executed between Caravel Metallurgical Ltd and a large international trading house, and brokered by GFI Group. A total of 20 lots traded in the January 2015 contract on 8 December.

Good morning and thank you, Chairman Fortenbery and Chairman Massad. I applaud your decision to hold this meeting to not only allow for additional input on these critical aspects of the position limits rule proposal, but to also take a look at the state of the agriculture economy and how that might impact the work we do at the Commission. Although the Commission’s mandate grew considerably under Title VII of Dodd-Frank, ensuring the integrity of the derivatives markets for our farmers and ranchers remains central to our mission. We should never lose sight of the fact that a vibrant futures market is essential to a robust agriculture economy in the United States and globally.

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) issued two Retrospective Rule Review Reports assessing, respectively, the effectiveness and efficiency of FINRA's communications with the public rules and FINRA's rules on gifts, gratuities and non-cash compensation.

Mexico’s Corporate Issuers To Gain Unprecedented Access To International Investors Through Euroclear - Cooperation Between The Ministry Of Finance And Euroclear Allows Mexican Corporates To Issue Debt Denominated In Mexican Peso Specifically Targeting International Investors

Euroclear is expected to begin servicing Mexican corporate debt instruments, known as Cebures, as of 31 January 2015. The service launch is a result of the close cooperation between the Mexican Ministry of Finance and Euroclear to align Mexico’s corporate issuance and asset servicing process with international standards.

BME To Open A New Point Of Access To The Spanish Stock Market In London - It Will Increase The Speed Of Access To The Spanish Stock Exchange For Investors In London

BME, through its technological subsidiary, Visual Trader, will open a new point of access to the Spanish stock market in London, equipped with the necessary communications infrastructure for investors to connect to the Spanish electronic equity (SIBE) and derivatives (SMART) trading platforms. The new gateway will be operational in late January 2015.
