New Supervisory Board Elected At Deutsche Börse AG- Dr Joachim Faber Confirmed As Chairman - Richard Berliand Elected Deputy Chairman - Risk Committee Established

The shareholders of Deutsche Börse AG elected the shareholder representatives on the company's Supervisory Board at today's AGM, due to expiry of the existing terms of office. The number of Supervisory Board members was also reduced from 18 to 12 as resolved at the last AGM. The new Supervisory Board comprises eight shareholder representatives and four employee representatives. Seven of the eight shareholder representatives on the Supervisory Board were already Supervisory Board members in the previous election period. Chinese national Amy Yok Tak Yip was elected as a new member of the Supervisory Board. Richard Hayden, David Krell, Friedrich Merz and Thomas Neiße no longer stood for election.

HKEx Receives Delegation From Taiwan

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) Chief Executive Charles Li; Calvin Tai, HKEx's Head of Global Clearing (Asia); Roger Lee, HKEx's Head of Market Operations; and Li Gang and Mao Zhirong, Co-heads of HKEx's Mainland Division, received a delegation from Taiwan today (Wednesday). The delegation comprised legislators and government officials as well as representatives of Taiwan's market regulator, stock exchange and brokerage industry. The two groups shared their viewsand experience on financial markets.

Finansinspektionen - Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority - Publishes Methods For Assessing Capital Requirements For Three Important Risk Types

Finansinspektionen (FI) establishes methods for assessing Pillar 2 capital requirements for three types of risk: credit-related concentration risk, interest rate risk in the banking book and pension risk. FI has taken into consideration the feedback received to the consultation memorandum published in December 2014 and has made certain changes to the methods now published. The memorandum also includes an updated impact assessment.

UK's Serious Fraud Office:n Convicted Boiler-Room Fraudster Sentenced To Four More Years

Brian O'Brien, a convicted fraudster, was sent to prison yesterday for an additional four years' by Westminster Magistrates' Court for failure to pay his confiscation order.

Fourteen Thai Stocks Added To MSCI Global Small Cap Indexes Effective May 29

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) revealed that MSCI Inc., a global index provider, would add 14 Thai stocks as components of its MSCI Global Small Cap Indexes, consisting of BA, BEAUTY, CBG, EPG, IMPACT, IFEC, MTLS, PLANB, PTG, SIM, SCN, TSE, UNIQ, and WORK, effective from May 29 making Thai bourse to have the most additions in the indexes in ASEAN.

Two New Organisations Join Better Finance

Better Finance is pleased to announce the affiliation of two new member organisations. TheBulgarian Financial Forum (BFF), active in the protection of consumers in the financial area in Bulgaria, and the Bund der Versicherten (Association of the Insured), safeguarding the interest of the insured in Germany, joined forces with Better Finance to have their voices heard in Brussels and to ensure that the interests of European savers and investors are guaranteed at the European level.

Bank Of England’s Response To EC Green Paper: Building A Capital Markets Union

The Bank of England today published its response to the European Commission’s public consultation on ‘Building a Capital Markets Union’. The Bank strongly supports the initiative, whose aim is to maximise the benefits of capital markets and non-bank financial institutions for the real economy. In developing its response, the Bank has built on its previous paper entitled ‘A European Capital Markets Union: implications for growth and stability’ - see Related Link.
