The EDM Council announced the launch of a global data management benchmarking study based on the Data Management Capability Assessment Model (DCAM). DCAM is an industry-standard best practice framework that defines the capabilities, actions and outcomes necessary to achieve proficiency in data management. The benchmarking study will collect information from thousands of financial industry participants around the world including investment banks, commercial banks, insurance companies, consumer banks, asset managers, securities servicing firms, custodians and depositories.

European Commission Welcomes Agreement On Improving Transparency Of Certain Financial Transactions In The Shadow Banking Sector

The European Commission welcomes today's political agreement on the proposal for a regulation on reporting and transparency of securities financing transactions (known as SFTR). The agreement follows negotiations between the Commission, the European Parliament and the Council of the EU to find common ground on the regulation. The proposed regulation aims to increase the transparency of certain transactions in the shadow banking sector to avoid that banks circumvent other rules by moving those activities to the shadow banking sector. Today's agreement will significantly improve the transparency of securities financing transactions and help identify their risks and their magnitude.

Euronext Introduces Equity Options On Pershing Square Holdings

Euronext, the primary exchange in the Eurozone, today announced the launch of options on the shares of Pershing Square Holdings, Ltd. The new options, that are available for trading on the Amsterdam market as of Friday 26 June, follow the company’s successful IPO on Euronext Amsterdam in October 2014.
