BM&FBOVESPA Publishes January Market Performance

BOVESPA  Segment

Trading value in the equity market (BOVESPA segment) totaled BRL 99.65 billion in January compared with BRL 132.64 billion the previous month. Average daily trading value was BRL 5.24 billion, vis-à-vis BRL 6.63 billion in December. Total volume reached 17,571,751 from 18,238,250 the previous month. Average daily volume was 924,829 (911,913 in December).

BOX Options Exchange Price Improvement Activity For January

In the month of January price improved contracts on BOX Options Exchange (“BOX”) averaged 364,078 per day. Price improvement versus the prevailing NBBO for contracts submitted via BOX’s price improvement auction, PIP, averaged $836,013 per day, while total savings to investors in January was $15.9M. With this, BOX has saved investors over $722M since its inception in 2004. Overall average daily trading volume on BOX in the month of January was 521,635 contracts.

Federal Reserve: Reserve Bank Operations And Payment Systems Director To Retire

Louise L. Roseman, director of the Division of Reserve Bank Operations and Payment Systems, will retire later this year after more than 30 years of service to the Federal Reserve Board, including 17 as director.

SEC Charges Lending Company And Brokerage Firm With Fraud

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced fraud charges against a Manhattan-based lending company and its owner accused of repeatedly lying to investors purchasing high-yield securities.  The SEC also charged the brokerage firm that acted as the placement agent and two of its executives.

Non Jordanian Investment At The Amman Stock Exchange During January 2016

The total value of shares that were bought by non-Jordanian investors during January 2016 was JD25.42 million, representing 13.7% of the overall trading value, while the value of shares sold by them amounted to JD29.75 million. As a result, the net of non-Jordanian investment during January 2016 showed a decrease by JD4.3 million, compared with a decrease by JD0.6 million during the same month of 2015.
