Yesterday's d-cypha SFE Electricity Futures Market Volume Smashes Previous Record

The ongoing power crisis in Victoria stimulated record trading turnover in the d-cypha SFE Electricity Futures Market yesterday.

Wednesday 17th January 2007, Electricity Futures and Options contracts traded on the Sydney Futures Exchange totals 1,663 quarterly equivalent contracts (previous record of 925 contracts 2/05/06). This equates to approximately 3.5 million MWh with a face value of $136 million.
