Warsaw Stock Exchange The Best Financial Exchange In CEE According To Euromoney

  • he prestigious monthly magazine Euromoney has named the Warsaw Stock Exchange the best financial exchange in Central and Eastern Europe.
  • Many WSE-listed companies have been awarded in other categories.

Euromoney has published the results of the 9th edition of its ranking of the “Best Managed Companies in Central and Eastern Europe – 2013”.

Analysts covering CEE have awarded the WSE in a new category of the “Best financial exchange in CEE” added this year.

The initial public offering of Alior Bank, listed on the WSE, has been named the best IPO in CEE. KGHM has been named the most improved company. PKN Orlen has been named the best managed company in the oil/gas/chemicals/petrochemical sector. Cyfrowy Polsat has ranked second, after the Turkish mobile operator Turkcell, as the best managed company in CEE.

The Euromoney ranking is based on a survey carried out among 57 analysts of major banks, consultancies and research institutes who cover Central and Eastern Europe. Respondents have been asked in the survey to name three leading companies in the country or sector they cover in terms of the market position, profitability, growth potential, quality of management and revenue.

Every year, Euromoney awards companies from the region in several categories including “Overall best managed company in CEE,” “Most convincing and coherent strategy” and “Best newly listed company in CEE”. The WSE was awarded in the latter category in 2011.
