World Federation Of Exchanges Welcomes Two New Members And Elected New Chairman And Vice Chairman

The General Assembly of the WFE Members welcomed two new members to the Federation : the International Securities Exchange (ISE) and the Nasdaq Stock Market.

The 46th General Assembly elected Borsa Italiana, represented by Massimo Capuano, President & CEO, to the Chairmanship of the Federation for the period 2007-2008. The General Assembly also elected the Chicago Board Options Exchange, represented by William J. Brodsky, Chairman & CEO, to the Vice-Chairmanship of the Federation for the period 2007-2008. CBOE is the first derivative exchange to hold this position.

Paul Chow, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing was appointed Chairman of the Working Committee, the business policy body of the Federation.

Members also elected new Board Directors :
  • Young-Tak Lee, Chairman & CEO, Korea Exchange
  • Geng Liang, Chairman, Shanghai Stock Exchange
  • Magnus Bocker, President & CEO, OMX
  • Antonio Zoido, Chairman, BME Spanish Exchanges Gilberto Mifano, CEO, Bovespa
for a two-year mandate covering 2007 and 2008.
