WFE welcomes David Thomas to the Federation as Head of Communications from 8 June 2015, the first key hire this year.
David comes from Deutsche Boerse AG, having worked as the global exchange group's London head of media and government affairs before becoming a senior spokesperson for Clearstream, the group's global settlement and custody operation. A former journalist, he was London bureau chief for Market News International for 10 years and previously the Brussels bureau chief for Bridge News at the time of the launch of the single currency in 1999.
Nandini Sukumar, WFE CEO said “I have known and respected David personally for years and am delighted he will join us at this crucial time for the Federation. David brings a wealth of experience and understanding of the media in addition to an array of global contacts. As WFE steps up its engagement with stakeholders and ensures the exchange voice is heard globally, David will play a significant role in communicating the message.”
Deploying his expertise and energy, WFE also plans to develop communication services for members in addition to raising the profile of the industry globally.
