In July 2007 the trading volume for all derivatives totalled 838,726 instruments. This was the third highest result in the history of derivatives trading on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
The trading volume for all derivatives in the last 12 months reached nearly 7.5 million instruments whereas the total value for the entire 2006 was 6.7 million.
March and June of 2007 were record-breaking months, with respective trading volumes of 930,486 and 852,205 instruments. Those were the highest monthly volumes on the derivatives market in the history of the WSE.
The number of open positions in 2007, for all derivatives in aggregate, has fluctuated around 100,000. At the end of July this figure climbed to 105,015.
All-time highs were recorded for the number of orders for WIG20 futures (with 1,008,515 orders placed, the 1 million mark was exceeded for the first time in history) and for mWIG40 futures, where, additionally, the figure of 2,275 contracts was the highest trading volume since June 2004.
