HCL Technologies today announced that Vineet Nayar, CEO and Whole Time Director of HCL Technologies, has been additionally appointed as the company’s Vice Chairman with effect from 1st November 2010. This promotion will be an addition to Vineet Nayar’s current duties as CEO and Whole Time Board Member.

Vineet joined HCL in 1985 as a Management Trainee and in 1993 he created the start-up company, Comnet. In 2005, he became President and in 2007 was appointed as the CEO of HCL Technologies, where over the next five years he led a turnaround. In 2008 he was appointed as a Whole Time Director of the company.
In 2010 Vineet authored the bestseller ‘Employees First, Customers Second: Turning Conventional Management Upside Down’ (Harvard Business Press, June 2010) which has received worldwide recognition and glowing testimonials from leading management gurus across the world.
Vineet is an active member of G100. He is also one of the founding members of the Asia Gender Parity Group and an active member of the Global Gender Parity Group at the World Economic Forum (WEF). Vineet is also a Governor for the ICT Industry at WEF and a Steering board member of the WEF Global Education Initiative, WEF ICT and Sustainability initiatives and of the Young Global Leaders.
