We are one of the UK’s two new financial regulators, working alongside the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). Together, we replace the Financial Services Authority.

What the FCA is here to do
We will supervise 26,000 firms. Our aim is to make financial markets work well, and by doing this we ensure a fair deal in financial services. We will do this by:
- Securing an appropriate degree of consumer protection
- Promoting effective competition in the interests of consumers
- Protecting and enhancing the integrity of the UK financial system
