Unsponsored BDRs Debut On 54 Trades And R$2.87 Million Volume - Trading Was In The BDRs Of All Companies

BM&FBOVESPA registered 54 trades and a volume of R$2.87 million on the first day of trading in Unsponsored Level 1 Brazilian Depositary Receipts (BDRs).

There were trades in BDRs of all the companies that have them: Apple Inc., Google Inc., Bank of America Corporation, Arcelor Mittal, Goldman Sachs Group Inc., Avon Products Inc., Wal Mart Stores Inc., Exxon Mobil Corporation, McDonald’s Corp. and Pfizer Inc.. The heaviest-traded paper was Apple (10 trades), followed by Avon (7 trades) and Goldman Sachs (also 7 trades). The heaviest trading volume was for receipts in Bank of America (R$1.22 million).

This first lot of BDRs for 10 companies, issued by Deutsche Bank, can be traded by financial institutions, investment funds, portfolio managers and stock consultants authorized by the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM). The last two in the list are only permitted to invest own capital. Individual investors can only participate in the new instrument via funds. Trading in BDRs takes place on the Bovespa segment’s OTC market.
