Bursa Malaysia is organising a conference that brings together valuable and practical perspectives from key participants involved in a public offering, including capital market regulators. The conference is designed to impart insights and guidance on the steps involved in listing on Bursa Malaysia.
This conference, organised in collaboration with AmInvestment Bank and MIMB Investment Bank, is aimed at Malaysian companies who are considering financing options to fuel their expansion plans and weighing the advantages of being a Public Listed Company on Bursa Malaysia.
Bursa Malaysia Berhad’s Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Yusli Mohamed Yusoff said, “Bursa Malaysia has been supporting and nurturing companies in fulfilling their fundraising needs and unlocking their value. Listing on Bursa Malaysia certainly enhances companies’ profiles and credibility. This conference is poised to help companies understand the merits that lie in realising their growth potential by listing on the exchange.
Dato’ Yusli added, “Bursa Malaysia offers an attractive platform for companies to raise equity financing. There is greater trading activity this year with an average daily trading volume of 1.5 billion in comparison to 803 million in 2006. Foreign investor participation in our market has increased to 36% year-to-date compared to 34% last year. The growing investor interest and increased market activity all point to the appeal the exchange offers in terms of fund-raising, trading and investment.”
The capital market regulators Securities Commission and Bursa Malaysia, together with professional advisors and select listed companies will offer comprehensive insights and guidance on listing on the exchange.
The topics of discussion will include, “Bursa Malaysia, the Listing Destination”, “Are you ready for a listing? Practical considerations for a listing on Bursa Malaysia”, “Essential Accounting for listing”, “The IPO requirements – they are within your reach”, and “Life as a Public Company”. The speakers will be from Securities Commission, Bursa Malaysia, MIMB Investment Bank Berhad, AmInvestment Bank Berhad, Horwath(Malaysia), OSK Ventures International Berhad and Green Packet Berhad.
