UniCredit Bank AG Express Certificates With Exposure To German Stocks Listed On GPW

Date 27/12/2018

  • New structured certificates issued by UniCredit Bank AG on GPW
  • The underlying of the new certificates is DivDAX® (Price) EUR, an index which groups the 15 biggest and most liquid stocks in Germany
  • DI Xelion will be the Distributor of the certificates in Poland for the first time

Express certificates issued by UniCredit Bank AG of Germany are available in trading on the exchange as of 27 December 2018. The certificates are dedicated for the first time to clients of Dom Inwestycyjny Xelion, which is the exclusive Distributor. The underlying of the new issue certificates is the price index DivDAX® (Price), calculated in EUR, which groups the 15 most liquid stocks on the German market which offer the biggest dividend yield.

“The development of the structured certificate segment is an important part of the business expansion of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The new certificates introduced to trading in co-operation between UniCredit and DI Xelion are the best proof that investors in Poland look for products based on diverse underlying instruments. Furthermore, as a public offering, the issue ensures market valuation of the products and their trading on the regulated market, which improves the transparency and safety of investments,” said Izabela Olszewska, GPW Management Board Member.

“The UniCredit Group is committed to improving its position as a supplier of structured products in Poland, actively supporting transparency and standardisation. With our experience from other markets, we want to help define market standards ensuring sustainable development of the segment of ETPs (Exchange-Traded Products). In partnership with the institutions of the Polish market, including the Warsaw Stock Exchange, and our distribution partners, including Dom Inwestycyjny Xelion, we want to support the transfer of know-how from most developed markets of structured products in order to facilitate the debate on best practice. With this in mind, we are proud to be a part of the transition in support of the distribution network, which will eventually benefit investors,” said Tom Coufal, Head of Private Investor Products CEE.

The new express certificates are traded on the parallel market in the Market Maker System.

In our opinion, the structured certificate segment could be an interesting investment alternative and a great addition to DI Xelion’s offer. In the first step, we have decided to offer structured certificates based on DivDAX® (Price). The instruments will be traded on the regulated market, where clients have access to up-to-date valuations and may exit the investment at any time. We are certain that informed investors will use alternative instruments in their investment portfolios, which is why we are planning to work with UniCredit Bank AG and introduce further structured certificates offered by DI Xelion,” said SÅ‚awomir Czarny, Deputy Director, DI Xelion Operational Service Department.

Key information on the new certificates are available on the website: www.onemarkets.pl and www.xelion.pl.

The Warsaw Stock Exchange lists more than 1000 structured products. Investors have a large choice of diverse underlying instruments: stocks, baskets of stocks, indices, agricultural products. Structured products give a choice of underlying instruments depending on preferred investment risk levels and may generate returns both on the upside and downside of the underlying.
