UNICEF Challenges The City To Compete For A Cause

Date 24/11/2004

Digby Jones, Vice President of UNICEF UK and Mark Makepeace, Honorary Fellow of UNICEF and Chief Executive of FTSE Group, are today throwing down the gauntlet to financial institutions and challenging them to take part in an investment race that will separate the wheat from the chaff – The Ethical Investment Race 2004/2005.

The Ethical Investment Race has been created for the financial industry in the UK to support UNICEF’s invaluable work with children across the globe. The race is an opportunity for investment professionals from a range of disciplines within this sector, to compete on an even keel, raise money for a worthwhile cause and have a bit of fun at the same time.

Mark Makepeace added “FTSE4Good index users have been helping UNICEF for a number of years through their support of the FTSE4Good Index Series. Now, the Ethical Investment Race provides an opportunity for many in the City to help UNICEF in this worthwhile cause.”
