Trading Volume Of Derivatives Products On Osaka Securities Exchange Hits A Record High, Surpassing The Previous Year's All-Time High

Total trading volume of futures and options contracts listed on Osaka Securities Exchange Co., Ltd. (OSE) for the year hit a record high of 60.72 million units, surpassing the previous year’s all-time high of 60.64 million units.

The key factor in the record volume is Nikkei 225 mini, a futures contract launched in July 2006. Trading of Nikkei 225 mini has steadily developed since the launch, due to active participation from individual investors, etc. The year-to-date volume of Nikkei 225 mini reached 24.90 million units (as of August 15).

OSE will aim for further increase in trading, with the evening session for stock index futures and options scheduled to be introduced on September 18, 2007.
