Tokyo Stock Exchange: Trading Suspension Of Lehman Brothers Japan, Inc.

Tokyo Stock Exchange Inc. (TSE) notifies that, in accordance with Rules 39 and 39-2 item 1 of the Trading Participants Regulations, it imposed the following trading suspension toward Lehman Brothers Japan, Inc., a general trading participant.

1. Contents

For the time being starting September 16th, 2008, securities transactions and market derivatives transactions of the said participant in the TSE market will be suspended, except for such transactions that the TSE deems necessary for settlement of un-settled clearing contracts.

2. Reasons

Financial Services Agency issued an order of business suspension to the said participant because it might be in default on payment. Japan Securities Clearing Corporation took a measure to suspend all assumption of liabilities of the said company in accordance with the Business Rules.

* As for the open interest of market derivatives transactions, necessary transactions or the like for settlement, such as off-set transactions or transfer of position to other trading participants will be conducted. The procedure will be notified later.
