Tokyo Stock Exchange Held A Ceremony Commemorating The Establishment Of Its Fourth Overseas Representative Office In Beijing

On February 22nd, the TSE held a ceremony at Diaoyutai State Guest House commemorating the establishment of our fourth overseas representative office in Beijing.

Prior to the ceremony, the TSE held a special seminar on interaction between Chinese and Japanese capital markets as well as the opening of the new Beijing office. At this seminar, Masamoto Yashiro, former chairman and CEO of Shinsei bank, and Mr. Wang Shi, the highly respected Chairman of China Vanke Co., Ltd. – a Chinese company with close ties to Japan – both gave valuable speeches on economic development and the relationship between China and Japan.

Minister of State for Financial Services and Administrative Reform Yoshimi Watanabe, China Securities Regulatory Commission Vice chairman Yao Gang, Ambassador Extraordinary and plenipotentiary Yuji Miyamaoto,?The Securities Association of China Chairman Huang XiangPing and over 200 other guests joined in the commemorative ceremony that followed.

Said Atsushi Saito, President and CEO of the TSE: "The establishment of our representative office in Beijing is symbolic of the friendship that Chinese and Japanese securities markets have cultivated until now, and it is my earnest wish that the office will promote even greater cooperation between our two markets as a 'center of exchange,' while helping contribute to the further development of capital markets in China."

Using this office as a hub, the TSE group is committed to continuing our efforts to promote the growth of capital markets in both China and Japan in the future.
