I am pleased to announce the opening of the Agricultural Product & Sugar Market on February 12, 2013. The Exchange has also changed its Japanese corporate name to “Tokyo Shohin Torihikijo”, which better reflects the addition of agricultural products to our industrial commodities, such as gold and rubber.

I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to everyone involved, including the promoters of the new market, regulating ministries and market participants, who kindly assisted us in the opening the market.

The launch the Agricultural Product & Sugar Market and expansion of our exchange into Japan’s comprehensive commodity marketplace marks a major milestone in our history. Considering the importance of the agricultural industry to the Japanese economy, we understand our great responsibility in revitalizing the futures market.
