The Board of Directors decided at the meeting held on April 16th to start the operations of the next generation system from May 7th, 2009.
The Exchange had previously announced that the next generation system “is scheduled to be operational by March 2009.”
However, following the recent completion of defining the system requirements, NTT Data and OMX came to the conclusion that the launch date should be extended since the schedule currently targeted by the Exchange is very tight and risks affecting the system, including its quality.
As the role of the Exchange is to offer a safe trading environment, we believe that the highest priority should be given to a smooth transfer and, therefore, TOCOM has decided to go live with the next generation system on May 7th, 2009, about a month later than the original target date.
