December 2010 gold futures contract (Nearest contract month) and October 2011 gold futures contract (back contract month) temporarily reached each 3,725 yen/gram and 3,734 yen/gram respectively during today's day session. This is the highest price seen in the past 27 years and 9 months, (since February, 1983).
Before the two contract months reached the above prices, the record high for the nearest contract month was 3,788 yen/gram on February 22, 1983, while the record high for the back contract month was 3,770 yen/gram on February 23, 1983.
