Thomas D. Sloan Joins NYSE Euronext As Vice President, International Security Operations

NYSE Euronext (NYSE Euronext: NYX) today announced that Thomas D. Sloan has been appointed to the position of Vice President, International Security Operations, effective Oct. 1, 2007. Mr. Sloan will be responsible for developing, implementing and directing company-wide security processes, serving as a liaison with global government security agencies and within the international operations, identifying significant security risks, and designing programs to prevent or reduce the loss of the organization's assets. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Global Security, Brian Gimlett.

Prior to joining NYSE Euronext, Mr. Sloan served as Vice President of Physical Security for Western Union since 2001. Before joining Western Union, Tom served more than 25 years as a Special Agent with the United States Secret Service. During his career, he held numerous positions of increasing responsibility to include being the Special Agent in Charge of the Baltimore Field Office where he oversaw complex financial crimes investigations. Prior to that, Mr. Sloan was the Special Agent in Charge of the Major Events Division where he managed the security systems for U.S. government designated national security events, including the United Nations General Assemblies, the NATO 50th Anniversary celebration and the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. During his career, he has also been responsible for the security of President William Clinton and managed an international fraud task force.

Mr. Sloan has a Master’s of Forensic Science from George Washington University and Bachelor’s from Villanova University.
