The Spanish Exchange today began to trade 1,041 new warrants issued by Commerzbank, which represents an all-time record high. With the new issues the total number of warrants listed so far this year stands at 2,670, up 108.3% from the same period a year earlier. The warrants are linked to a broad range of underlying assets and they are American style.
The 564 warrants issued on Spanish shares are linked to the following shares: Abengoa, Abertis, Acciona, Acerinox, ACS, Amper, Antena 3 Televisión, Avanzit, Banco de Sabadell, Banco de Valencia, Banco Pastor, Banco Popular, Banesto, Bankinter, BBVA, Banco Santander, Bolsas y Mercados Españoles, Cintra, Corporación Financiera Alba, Corporación Mapfre, Criteria CaixaCorp, Ebro Puleva, Enagas, ENCE, Endesa, Faes Farma, FCC, Gamesa, Gas Natural, Telecinco, Grifols, Grupo Catalana Occidente, Grupo Ferrovial, Iberdrola Renovables, Iberdrola, Iberia, Inditex, Indra, Inmobiliaria Colonial, La Seda de Barcelona, Laboratorios Almirall, NH Hoteles, Obrascon Huarte Lain, Prisa, Prosegur, Realia, Red Eléctrica, Repsol, Sacyr Vallehermoso, Sol Melia, Solaria, Sos Cuétara, Técnicas Reunidas, Telefonica, Unión Fenosa, Vocento, Zardoya Otis and Zeltia. As for foreign shares, 340 warrants were issued on the following underlying assets: Alcatel-Lucent, Allianz, Alstom, Apple, Arcelor Mittal, Axa, Barclays, Bayer, BNP Paribas, Cisco Systems, Citigroup, Daimler, Dell, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, Ebay, Electricité de France, EADS, Fiat, Fortis, France Telecom, Google, Danone, Infineon, ING, Intel, Microsoft, Nokia, Pfizer, Philips, Porsche, Royal Bank of Scotland, Sanofi-Aventis, SAP, Siemens, Société Générale, Suez, Telecom Italia, Total, Vallourec, Vinci and Yahoo.
With regard to indices, 37 issues were made on the IBEX 35®, 4 on the IBEX MEDIUM CAP®, 8 on the DAX, 9 on the DJ Euro Stoxx50, 12 on the Dow Jones Industrial, 8 on the Nasdaq and 20 on the Nikkei. As regards commodities, 10 warrants were issued on the Gold ounce, 10 on the Silver ounce, 11 on the Brent future contract, with expiration date in June and December 2008. Another 8 warrants were issued on the euro/dólar.
