The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity
option volume in August increased 70.79% when 20,354,679 contracts
traded compared to the same year-ago period when 11,917,768
contracts traded. Equity option volume in August increased 8.21%
compared to the previous month when 18,810,223 contracts traded.
The Exchange garnered 13.99 % equity options market share in
August making it the third largest market center in the U.S.
for options for the tenth month in a row. PHLX market share
without ex-dividend volume was 13.12%.
Sectors index options volume in August increased 1.96% when
511,765 contracts traded compared to the same year-ago period
when 501,925 contracts traded. Volume in sectors index options
in August decreased 13.38% compared to the previous month when
590,822 contracts traded
Trading volume in the customized and standardized currency options
for August totaled 11,107 contracts, a decrease of 1.17% compared
to the same year-ago period when 11,238 contracts traded. Volume
in August decreased 2.01% compared to the previous month when
11,335 contracts traded.
Equity volume for August decreased 62.45% when 43,449,753 shares
traded compared the same year-ago period when 115,705,116 shares
traded. Equity volume for August decreased 28.55% compared to
the previous month when 60,809,342 shares traded.

(FXISM). This is the first time investors in the
United States and abroad will be able to track the performance
of the largest and most widely traded Chinese stocks by mirroring

capitalization.
