The Options Industry Council (OIC) has partnered with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Asia’s first exchange, to expand options education in India. The partnership expands OIC’s educational efforts worldwide as this partnership is the eighth international one for OIC and the fifth time partnering with an Asian exchange.

OIC and BSE will work together on educational offerings aimed at Indian investors such as sharing online content, case studies, research and white papers promoting the responsible use of options. In addition, Steve Meizinger, OIC instructor and Director of Education at the International Securities Exchange (ISE), will lead a tour of live seminars on options trading throughout several Indian cities at the beginning of August. The live seminars will be held August 2-6 in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata and Delhi, and will cover option Greeks, spread trading and volatility. For more information and to register for the upcoming seminars, please visit BSE’s website http://www.bseindia.com/.

Madhu Kannan, MD & CEO of BSE said, “As our markets evolve, a growing number of investors are looking at adding options to their trading and investment portfolios. We believe that increasing awareness of the benefits and risks of these instruments through training and education is a critical responsibility in our efforts to grow our markets. The BSE is excited to collaborate with OIC to leverage strengths of both institutions’.

Gina McFadden, OIC President said, “We are looking forward to working with BSE. This partnership provides OIC with an excellent opportunity to expand options education throughout India as we continue increasing our global outreach to help investors understand the benefits and risks of equity options.”
