The Spanish Exchange today began to trade 108 new warrants issued by Société Générale, bringing the total number of issues admitted to trading this year to a record 6,022. The new issues are linked to a wide range of underlying assets, including domestic and foreign shares and indices.
38 warrants were issued on the following Spanish shares: Acciona, BBVA, Banco Popular, Bankinter, Cintra, Sacyr Vallehermoso and Telefónica .
46 warrants were issued on the following foreign shares: Alcatel-Lucent, Allianz, Apple, CEZ (Ceske Energetick Zavody), Cisco Systems, Chrysler, Deutche Bank, Deutsche Telekom, Google, Intel Corporation, IBM, Philips, SAP and Siemens. It is worth mentioning the incorporation of Czech Energy Company CEZ (Ceske Energetick Zavody) as a new underlying asset.
As regards indices, 24 warrants were admitted to trading, of which 4 are call warrants on the Hang Seng index and 20 on the IBEX 35®.
The issues include call and put warrants, with expiry dates in December 2007 and January, February, March, June and September 2008. The warrants are American style, that is, they are automatically exercised on the expiry date.
