The Minneapolis Grain Exchange is pleased to announce that Rita Maloney has joined the organization as Manager of Marketing, Communications and Media Relations.
Rita has come to the Exchange with over 20 years experience in the media industry. Most recently, Rita worked at WCCO radio where she served as Business Editor and Anchor and was instrumental in the development and coordination of the All-business Talk Radio Format on KCCO. She was also a Reporter and Host of KCCO Business Today.
Rita has held positions at other media outlets in the Minneapolis and Pittsburgh regions as well. She won the Media Support Award from the National Association of Girls and Women in Sports, Minnesota in 2007. She was also named one of the “Women to Watch” by the Minneapolis Business Journal in 2002 and was one of “Pittsburgh 50 Finest” from Pittsburgh Magazine in 1997. Additionally, Rita has won numerous Associated Press Awards for her news coverage.
“With the growth MGEX has seen we have a chance to promote the Exchange through numerous outlets,” said Mark Bagan, President and CEO of the Exchange. “Rita’s experience in the media industry makes her an incredible asset. She will lead our efforts to continue to take advantage of opportunities in the marketplace.”
Rita is responsible for communication with the media and will lead her staff in marketing and communications efforts for the Exchange. She will work directly with brokers and other marketing partners to promote the Exchange with an integrated marketing approach.
