Utilities & Pipelines Sector Making History
TSX and TSXV have 25 issuers in the Utilities and Pipelines sector, with $228 billion in market cap, up 39% year over year. The sector raised $15.8 billion in equity capital in 2016, up 34% over 2015. TransCanada Corporation (TSX:TRP) raised more than $9 billion through four financings in 2016 and Enbridge Inc. (TSX:ENB) raised more than $3 billion through two financings. TransCanada's $4 billion financing in April was the largest bought deal in TSX history.

U.S. Making Their Mark on Canada's Markets
TSX and TSXV are home to 121 U.S.-headquartered companies, with an aggregate market cap of $90 billion (up 12% year over year). U.S. issuers raised $2.7 billion in equity capital in 2016, up 57% over 2015, and 11 new U.S. issuers joined the Exchanges in 2016, 10% more than in 2015.
