The MICEX Stock Exchange has revised the compositions of the MICEX Index and the MICEX sectoral indices and adopted new compositions of these indices. The indices are comprised of securities recommended by the Index Committee. These are stocks included in current compositions of indices and waiting lists of corresponding indices.
The composition of the MICEX Index, which will remain in force from 15 October 2007 till 15 April 2008, now includes common shares in VTB Bank and common shares in MMK. Common shares in Irkut Corporation and common shares in Sedmoi Kontinent have been excluded from the MICEX Index composition. The total number of securities comprising the MICEX Index -- 30 stocks -- has not changed.
The following changes have been made in the compositions of sectoral indices, which will remain in force from 15 October 2007 till 15 January 2008: preference shares in Tatneft have been added to the composition of the MICEX O&G index, common shares in Krasnoyarskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant, common shares in Sverdlovenergo and common shares in Mosgorelektroset have been excluded from the composition of the MICEX PWR index. The compositions of the MICEX TLC, the MICEX M&M and the MICEX MNF indices have remained unchanged.
In accordance with the rules of calculation of indices, following the latest revision of compositions of indices, in the beginning of October 2007, on the basis of prices of shares for 28 September, new weight coefficients of shares will be calculated. They will be used to calculate indices from the date of putting into effect the new compositions of indices. The compositions of the MICEX Index and sectoral indices will be put into effect on 15 October 2007.

: At present, the MICEX Stock Exchange calculates several stock market indices: the MICEX Index (composite index), sectoral indices MICEX O&G, MICEX PWR, MICEX TLC, MICEX M&M and MICEX MNF and capitalization indices MICEX LC, MICEX MC and MICEX SC. These are price indices of stocks of Russian issuers weighted by market capitalization (free-float). The indices are calculated in the real-time mode. The composition of the MICEX Index is revised twice a year, the compositions of sectoral and capitalization indices are revised each quarter.
