The Warsaw Capital Market Summit 2015 is an international conference devoted to capital markets in Poland and the Central and East European region. This year’s conference, its fifth edition, will be taking place on 18 June at the Warsaw Stock Exchange. The event will bring together investors, issuers, representatives of financial institutions and public administration, as well as financial journalists from across the globe.
The conference is one of the most important events aimed at international investors and issuers interested in raising capital in the Central and East European Region. The organisers of the Warsaw Capital Market Summit 2015 are the Warsaw Stock Exchange and the Central Securities Depository of Poland (KDPW), together with its partners - global and regional financial institutions, consultants and law firms.
The conference program includes four discussion panels with participants consisting of Polish and foreign experts and market practitioners:
Panel 1. The potential of capital in Central and Eastern Europe.
Panel 2. Privatisation – ending or beginning?
Panel 3. Real estate products - new opportunities for exchanges and investors?
Panel 4. The growing role of debt capital markets in the debt financing mix
The discussion during the first panel on the potential of capital in the CEE region will cover in particular the attractiveness of investing in the markets within the region, investment strategies of Polish and foreign institutional investors, as well as changes in the investment strategy of private pension funds in Poland and other CEE countries.
The second panel discussion will reflect on privatisation and will cover privatisation models implemented throughout the region and strategies used to achieve these goals. In addition, the role of private equity funds will also be examined, and the manner in which they have often participated in privatisation programs as a real and viable alternative for strategic investors. There will also be an overview of new types of management of state companies and assets currently being introduced.
Real estate products as an opportunity for stock exchanges and investors are the subject of the third discussion panel at the WCMS conference. The participants of the debate will consider the capital market through the perspective of the real estate market and related new investment opportunities. The panel will also examine international best practices and debate how these may be applied in the market in Poland.
The final panel will consist of a discussion on the growing role of the capital market in corporate debt structuring. The panel members will debate whether the current model - where an increasing number of companies from the CEEMEA region are coming to market - will continue to be maintained. In addition, the panel will address the question of whether the local debt market remains a viable alternative source of corporate financing.
