The Federal Financial Markets Service Of Russia Allows Short Selling And Margin Trading

On September 26th, 2008, 09:00 am Moscow time the FFMS lifted the ban on short selling, uncovered and margin trades imposed on September 22nd, 2008.

The FFMS also issued an instruction for the professional participants of the stock market to limit the leverage for margin and uncovered trades at the level 1:1. This rule shall be applied to all clients, including clients with increased risk level.
