Listing

Total number of listed companies on the listed securities market in November 2010 remained 213 companies as the previous month. Meanwhile, the number of listed companies on Nilex has reached 16 at the end of November 2010.

There was one new listed company this month, with a total capitalization of US$ 33.8 million (LE 195.6 million).

Turnover

Total number of trading days in November 2010 amounted to 19 days with a total value traded of US$ 4,355.38 million (LE 25,215.49 million). Value traded of the main market amounted to US$ 4,196.82 million (LE 24,297.49 million), of which shares, bonds and funds represented 64.21%, 35.79% and 0.00%, respectively. Unlisted securities i.e. Over the Counter trading reached US$ 153.42 million (LE 888.24 million), which represents 3.52% of total value traded for the month. Additionally, Nilex has recorded a trading value of US$ 5.14 million (LE 29.75 million) during the month.

This is in comparison to October 2010, when value traded of the main market amounted to US$ 3,957.74 million (LE 22,862.69 million), of which shares represented 71.65%, bonds 28.35% and funds 0.00%. In addition, the OTC trading amounted to 220.98 million (LE 1,276.55 million) i.e. 5.29% of total trading (on- and off-exchange trading), which reached US$ 4,180.96 million (LE 24,152.16 million). Additionally, Nilex has recorded a trading value of US$ 2.24 million (LE 12.92 million) during the month.

Total volume traded of listed securities market for this month reached 2,465.42 million securities. Meanwhile, the total volume traded of the OTC market has reached 226.48 million securities. Nilex has recorded a trading volume of 2.53 million securities.

During November 2010, 751,974 transactions were concluded with an average of 39,578 trades per day, as opposed to 865,151 transactions and an average of 43,258 trades per day in October 2010.

Indices

EGX 30 index, the official market index, witnessed an increase of 0.52% in November 2010 to reach 6704.83 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 14.25%.

Meanwhile, EGX 70 price index witnessed an increase of 9.35% in November 2010 to reach 730.69 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 10.92%.

Moreover, EGX 100 price index witnessed an increase of 6.42% in November 2010 to reach 1160.41 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 10.27%.

Additionally, the Dow Jones EGX Egypt Titans 20 index witnessed an increase of 1.18% in November, to close at 1,446.76 points on 30/11/2010 and witnessed a YoY increase of 17.34%.

On the other hand, the S&P/EGX ESG index witnessed an increase of 2.87% in November, to close at 1,104.64 points and witnessed a YoY increase of 27.85%.

Price Movements of Selected Shares

The ten most active stocks in the main market represented 49.67% of the total value & 65.35% of the total volume of shares traded for the month.

During the month of November, the top five gainers, on the main market, were (in descending order of price change) Amer Group Holding (+2308%), Minapharm Pharmaceuticals (+170%), General Company for Land Reclamation, Development & Reconstruction (+142%), Golden Pyramids Plaza (+118%) and Egyptian Real Estate Group Bearer Shares (+56%).

The top five losers were (in ascending order of price change) Arab Valves Company (-24%), Misr Beni Suef Cement (-15%), Ismailia National Food Industries (-10%), Universal For Paper and Packaging Materials (Unipack) (-10%) and Orascom Development Holding (AG) (-9%).

Market Capitalization

Total market capitalization of shares in the main market amounted to US$ 82.57 billion (LE 478.01 billion) as of end of November 2010 compared to US$ 78.38 billion (LE 452.77 billion) in October 2010, representing an increase of 5.58%. Meanwhile, Market capitalization for the companies listed on Nilex has reached US$ 145.69 million (LE 843.47 million) at the end of November 2010.

The bond capitalization recorded US$ 934 million (LE 5.4 billion) for corporate bonds and US$ 33.8 billion (LE 196 billion) for government bonds at the end of November 2010 (Including Treasury Bonds according to Primary Dealers System).

Foreign Participation

In November 2010, foreign investors participated with 25.88% of the value traded of the main market, with a net inflow of portfolio foreign investment totaling US$ 143.87 million (LE 832.93 million).
