The Copenhagen Stock Exchange Co-operates With eHuset On Facility Management

Date 02/10/2000

On 1 October 2000, the Copenhagen Stock Exchange began outsourcing the IT operation of its market information systems to eHuset. The Facility Management co-operation, which is divided into three stages, means that within one year eHuset will establish an operation support scheme covering preventive and proactive surveillance, systems support and IT preparedness.

To begin with, the agreement means that eHuset will provide consulting services in connection with the operation of the Exchange’s servers and network. In the following stage, eHuset will be in charge of the operation of the local IT environment in co-ordination with other IT centres within the NOREX Alliance. In the third stage, which is scheduled for July 2001, eHuset will be completely in charge of the operation of the Exchange’s local IT environment, including servers, network equipment and 2nd line support via HelpDesk. Moreover, eHuset will help optimise business processes on the IT side.

“We chose eHuset because the company matches our needs and desires in a number of areas”, says Head of IT Jens Øjvind Nielsen, Copenhagen Stock Exchange, and he continues: “We need to create flexibility and reliable systems and optimise our IT co-operation with the NOREX exchanges in respect of market information systems. As from October 2000, share and bond trading on the OM Stockholm Exchange/OM Fixed Income Exchange, the Iceland Stock Exchange and Copenhagen Stock Exchange will take place in the joint SAXESS system. We find it vitally important that a co-operation partner can assist us in connection with structural changes. It is also important to us that eHuset has good customer references, technical competence, flexibility and can provide consulting services, both on a strategic and technical level. Moreover, eHuset is a pro-active company that recommends a staged agreement, which is not complex and which may be adjusted in step with changes in the IT strategy.”

CEO Claus Erik Christoffersen, eHuset A/S, sees the agreement as an important step for eHuset, since IT operation support is an important element of eHuset’s solutions. “The agreement, which covers the entire IT infrastructure of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange, strengthens eHuset’s position as a leading company in Internet enabling services with focus on IT”, he says and continues: “eHuset helps companies find efficient and robust e-business solutions. The many years of experience in IT solutions mean that eHuset can provide assistance throughout the entire business process in an e-business solution right from the strategic consultancy to implementation, operation and support.

The consultants at eHuset offer expert advice and have worked with Internet standards long before they were recognised in relation to the Internet”, he says and concludes: “We expect the market for Facility Management to grow strongly in the future and we look forward to co-operating with the Copenhagen Stock Exchange”.

eHuset announces that its Facility Management agreement with the Copenhagen Stock Exchange does not change the already published expectations for the financial year.
