Thai Bourse To List The First State Enterprise Infrastructure Fund “EGATIF" On July 13

Date 10/07/2015

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will list North Bangkok Power Plant Block 1 Infrastructure Fund of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), Thailand’s first SET-listed state enterprise infrastructure fund, worth THB 20.86 billion (approx. USD 615 million) on its main board on July 13, under the ticker symbol "EGATIF"

SET Executive Vice President Santi Kiranand said that EGATIF would list and start trading in the Thai bourse's Resources industry and Energy & Utilities sector. EGATIF offered via an initial public offering (IPO) at THB 10 per unit during June 22 - 26, with a total value of THB 20.86 billion (2,085.50 million units). Krung Thai Asset Management pcl (KTAM) was the fund manager, while Siam Commercial Bank pcl was its financial adviser and underwriter.

EGATIF has invested in the rights to availability payments (AP1) of EGAT’s latest power plant, North Bangkok Power Plant Block 1, for 20-year period, with a contracted power generation capacity of 670 megawatts. The power plant has been running combined-cycle production technology employing advanced and world-class technology. EGAT will retain the ownership of the plant’s assets and manage operation and maintenance. In addition, EGAT will also invest 25 percent in EGATIF for at least five years.

Chavinda Hanratanakool, KTAM’s Chief Executive Officer said that this was a great opportunity for investors to invest in the fund which support the nation’s electricity development and jointly build the country’s power security, while being able to reap benefit from solid returns via EGATIF’s revenues from its availability payments, regardless of the actual outputs, competition, and the industry condition. Thus, we believe that EGATIF would be an alternative investment to generate good returns in the long run.

EGATIF's dividend policy is to pay at least twice a year at no less than 90 percent of adjusted net profit of its financial year. EGATIF's three major unit holders after its IPO are EGAT (25 percent), Thai Life Insurance pcl (11.99 percent) and EGAT Saving and Credit Cooperative Limited (8.34 percent).
