Thai Bourse To Launch Futures Trading Using The Internet Aug. 28

Date 24/08/2006

“Providing a trading alternative through the internet will make the investing process faster and more convenient. Investors with existing futures trading accounts can simply tell their brokers that they wish to trade online. We expect there will be at least 10 brokerage firms initially providing online trading services,” TFEX President Ms. Kesara Manchusree said.

“We expect the numbers of participating brokers to increase, and TFEX is willing to assist them to provide online trading services. Interested brokers can simply apply to the Exchange for a system test. To date we have conducted successful joint system tests with three system developers and 10 TFEX members,” Ms. Kesara added.

Over the past few months, TFEX has been educating investors and brokers in online trading of SET50 Index Futures, through seminars, training, and a simulation game.

“We are confident that investors are now proficient enough to trade through the internet, and that they will receive fast and efficient service,” Ms. Kesara concluded.
