The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will again hold its annual biggest investment fair “SET in the City” in Bangkok, this time on November 21-24 under the concept “Broaden your investment opportunity,” with four-days of intensive seminars and workshops, also meetings with financial advisors and listed companies. The event also features the country’s highest number of forefront speakers in Thai capital market gathering in the event.
One hundred leading financial firms will provide information to boost opportunities for investors throughout the fair at Siam Paragon department store.
SET President Charamporn Jotikasthira said that 2013 is dubbed as the year of active investment because it is being driven by many supporting factors, as shown by SET’s daily average trading value and derivatives trading volume, which have outperformed other markets in ASEAN. From January to September, new securities trading accounts rose by 149,191 accounts, pushing the total of securities accounts up 18.71 percent from a year earlier to 946,517 accounts, supported by SET’s expanding the quality investor base through many activities. It is also the right timing in holding SET in the City to help newcomers in particular to get accurate information for prudent decision-making. The festival should attract 100,000 participants and generate more than 18,000 transactions.
“SET in the City, being held for the ninth year, is a cooperative and synergistic effort between the public and private sectors to enhance financial and investment literacy and help Thais prudently build wealth through choosing investments and channels that are most fitted to their needs. This year’s effort centralizes a full range of modern financial products and services, offering both domestic and international opportunities,” Charamporn added.
Investors will have a multitude of activities throughout the fair to choose from, enabling them to know alternatives such as stocks, derivatives, bonds, mutual funds, and insurance, as well as to get handbooks and promotions.
