Thai Bourse Enhances Information Display In SETSMART And Its Website

Date 11/11/2010

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) is integrating the information presented on listed firms to give an unprecedented degree of user-friendliness. Company Summary part of its information system, SETSMART, will integrate multiple sources of company data onto a single screen for greatly increased ease of analysis and usage. This new format will be used in www.set.or.th at around end-2010.

“SET realizes the importance of staying up-to-date on a company’s performance and events in making prudent investment decisions. Therefore, SET has gathered listed companies’ key information from multiple sources and arranged it as an one-page factsheet so that investors have most of the information they seek all on one screen,” revealed SET Group Head, Issuer & Listing Chanitr Charnchainarong.

“This company summary factsheet will greatly benefit investors, since it compiles key information from many places to be on a single page. This information includes a company profile, trading information, financial statement summary, financial ratios, and historical stock prices presented in graphs, which can be compared with Industry and market overviews. It is provided in both Thai and English versions. The enhanced information display will help investors more easily analyze the company’s overall performance and trading before doing in-depth study for decision-making,” said Mr. Chanitr.

“Through its wide usage, the presented information will promote listed companies and reflect their true value, which will benefit both investors and the firms,” concluded Mr. Chanitr.

Investors can see listed companies’ factsheets via SETSMART, while SET’s website at www.set.or.th will start publishing around end-December 2010.

In 2011, SET will develop information distribution to be broader and deeper, particularly information on the company’s type of business, revenue structure, and corporate governance scores.
