The total index (TEDPIX) of Tehran Stock Exchange (TSE) closed at 51,321.3 point at the end of June 2013, with 28.3 percent growth during the quarter. TSE’s blue-chip index (TEDFIX 30) also gained more than 22 percent in the 2Q13, and closed at 2,572.4.
At the end of June 2013, total number of listed companies at TSE amounted 316, which is 6 less than the number at the end of March, due to their transferring to Iran Farabourse (SMEs Exchange).
TSE’s entire equity market capitalization jumped about 36 percent in the quarter and stood at IRR 2,441,480 billion. The figure is twice more than the Exchange’s market capitalization at the end of June 2012.
The total trading value at the equity market leaped 161 percent, comparing with the 1Q13, and the trading volume of the quarter soared nearly 49 percent. About 35.8 billion shares and rights were traded in the second quarter at the total value of IRR 253.5 trillion. These were executed in almost 2.3 million transactions.
