Taiwan Futures Exchange Enters Into Partnership With Hanoi Stock Exchange

Date 27/05/2013

The Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) and the Hanoi Stock Exchange  (HNX)  today  signed  a  Memorandum  of  Understanding  (MOU)  to  share information and best practices pertaining to product development, business and marketing initiatives, technology, and also in the areas of mutual interests of markets in Taiwan and Vietnam.

“In response to the rapidly changing global financial landscape, collaborations between exchanges have been increasingly important,” said Dr. Tony Fan, Chairman of TAIFEX. “We are pleased to cooperate with HNX to better serve the markets of Taiwan and Vietnam, and to share our experiences on business development, trading and clearing mechanism as well as product design through training program for practitioners from Vietnam. By signing MOU, both sides would benefit from the exchange of information and pursue possible cooperation in the future, which will lead to achieve a win-win situation.” added Fan.

Mr. Tran Van Dzung, Chairman & CEO of HNX, said “This event marks an important milestone not only in the relationship between our two exchanges, but also in the long lasting cooperation between Taiwan and Vietnam in financial market development. […] this MOU commits the two exchanges in information sharing and assisting each other in development of derivatives products and markets. We highly appreciate TAIFEX’ goodwill and support to train our staff and provide consultancy to Vietnam in the establishment of futures market. The training session by TAIFEX to five HNX staffs here at TAIFEX premises in Taipei right after this signing ceremony is indeed a vivid proof of the strong commitment of our two exchanges to a long lasting and effective collaboration. I found good foundation for a strong belief that the MOU we sign today and the cooperation between the two exchanges will be fruitful and contribute substantially to the collaboration of the two financial markets and to the cooperation between Taiwan and Vietnam as well.”

The signing ceremony took place in Taipei and was witnessed by Dr. Vu Bang, Chairman of State  Securities  Commission  of  Vietnam  and  Mr.  Bui  Trong  Van,  Chief  of  Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei. After the signing ceremony, HNX delegates paid a courtesy visit to the Securities and Futures Bureau, Financial Supervisory Commission.
