Shenzhen Securities Information Co, Ltd (SSIC), the information business subsidiary of Shenzhen Stock Exchange (SZSE), and HKEx Information Services Limited (HKEx-IS), the information business subsidiary of HKEx, signed an agreement for a market data collaboration programme today (Wednesday).
The agreement was signed by SSIC General Manager Zheng Song and HKEx-IS Director Bryan Chan. The SZSE Information Management Department, China Investment Corporation, a SSE subsidiary and other senior officials from both parties also attended the signing ceremony.
Under the HKEx-SZSE programme, both parties are entitled to redistribute the other party’s basic real-time market data for the companies with securities listed in both markets to their own authorized information vendors (IVs) for onward transmission to the IVs’ subscribers for internal display purposes. According to the programme, the usual exchange fees for market data are waived for the two parties, their IVs and their IVs’ market data subscribers.
The objective of the collaboration programme is to assist investors who intend to invest in the companies listed in Hong Kong or Shenzhen. The programme is expected to benefit investors in both markets and help increase the popularity of issuers with securities trading in Hong Kong as well as Shenzhen.
The collaboration programme will take effect as of May 1, 2010.
