Supervisory Board Of STOXX Limited Elects Chairman - Werner Bürki Of SWX Swiss Exchange Elected For Second Consecutive Term

STOXX Limited, the leading European index provider, today announced that Werner Bürki, a member of the management committee of the SWX Swiss Exchange and CEO of EXFEED Ltd., has been elected chairman of the supervisory board of STOXX Limited.

This will be Mr. Bürki’s second consecutive term serving as chairman. The change is effective immediately and a result of the regular annual election of the chairman of the supervisory board.

Mr. Bürki has been a member of the management committee of the SWX Swiss Exchange since July 2002 and the CEO of EXFEED Ltd. since October 2001. He is a graduate of Kaderschule Zürich and in his early years specialized in options trading and futures. Previously, Mr. Bürki was head of the Swiss arm of Bridge Information Systems. During this period, he introduced the Dow Jones platform to the Swiss market and was responsible for the merger of Dow Jones Markets and Bridge. Until 2001, he was a member of both the management board and the board of directors of Dow Jones Markets Switzerland AG. Mr. Bürki has been a member of the STOXX supervisory board since December 2002.

The supervisory board is composed of one representative from each of STOXX Limited’s three joint venture partners: Deutsche Börse AG, Dow Jones & Company, and SWX Swiss Exchange AG. A list of the current members of the supervisory board is available on www.stoxx.com.
